While the rest of the world is predicting what's gonna bein the new iPhone, and while I'm waiting for boarding here, I thought that Imight as well write an iPhone prediction by iFong.
Yes, I do think that there will be a new iPhone in June.Given that Apple has disappointed Steve Jobs and the whole world for annoucingiPhone 3GS, and all the coming Android 2.X phones, they definitely need to dosomething about it.
First of all, hardware
Size is gonna stay almost the same. A new keyboard won'tfit into a smaller iPhone, and a bigger iPhone won't fit into the pocket.
Higher resolution screen is a must, together with the newLED-Backlit IPS screen from iPad Screen. Size is gonna be bigger too, pushing till the edgeof the phone, probably less empty space around the top.
There has been rumor that the new iPhone will have 5mpcamera with flash, but I don't think there will be a flash. Having a flash isjust so not cool on the hardware. They might probably improve the camerasoftware to take better picture in the dark.
Better noise cancelling and call quality Last but notleast, definitely a better processor. perhaps A4Mobile Nope, there won't be asecond camera for video call. It's just not cool. Steve will save the space forcamera for something else
Software
There will be a new home screen, with more info likecalendar and notification, allow easier access to those app
Radio, just likeiPod Nano
According to one of the patents applied by Apple, there will be a newfeature in which u can have icon of your contacts on the screen. By tapping theicon, it gives you various options that you can do with the contact, e.g. Call,SMS, email etc (click here to see more info)
credit: Redmond Pie
I don't think there will be a full multi-app capability. Applewill enable some of the built-in app to run in background, e.g. U can switchfrom game to the SMS app without quiting the game. But other apps running inthe background? No way. The UI is just too complicated, not an Apple culture
Due to the fight between Apple and Google, I don't think turn-by-turn GoogleMaps will be available. U will still need other GPS app to do that
Now that theiPad is out, I think there will be a mechanism to better sync data betweeniPhone and iPad, eg sync game status, bookmarks in safari and iBook etc, without going through iTunes (through MobileMe maybe?)
iBook Store in iPhone perhaps?
Name?
And the last prediction is, it will DEFINITELY not benamed as iPhone 4G, DEFINITELY! There's no formal definition for 4G, even fromthe telco, and the tech has yet to be finalized. So it would be stupid to namethe phone on something which nobody knows what it's about. What will be thename? I don't know. Perhaps iPhone J? J stands for Jobs?
If you are a classic jazz lover and you are looking for a place to relax, enjoy music on a Friday night, Jazz Cellar is a place that you must go.
Friday nights in Perth have always been boring for me. Reach home early, dinner alone, nowhere to go, and it was the same last Friday. However, this time, I had a sudden craving for live jazz music, and I text Jillian for a recommendation. She said her friend recommended her Jazz Cellar, so I Google on it, and this immediately captured my attention:
the entry to the cellar is though one of the old style phone boxes. Go
through the door and the back of the phone box opens onto a landing,
from where you descend into the cellar.
Without a second thought, I jumped into a taxi and head straight to the place, and it was exactly how the website described it. The entrance is through a old-school telephone booth.
Before this, I have been sharing camera with my family, then with WeiWei, and I never really had a chance to have my own time to take pictures, especially when the camera is with WeiWei... it takes her 5 minutes to take a flower, and she takes 500-1000 pictures every trip... Imagine I'm sharing the camera with her...
It's just amazing to shoot pictures with DSLR, and I've enjoyed it even since I bought it. There're just so many things that you can do with it especially with my new lens now. The camera has been my best companion in this foreign land. Walking alone on the street, I usually bring my camera with me and take as many pictures as I can, and it just feels fantastic.
Photography has brought a whole new experience to me. It is photography that makes me realized that with different angles you see things differently, different from what you normally see, how other people sees it, and it's photography that makes me slow down my pace and try to pay more attentions to things around me, things that I walk pass everyday without realizing them before this.
My friend asked a professional photographer for advice on how to take nice pictures, and the answer he got was "Buy more memory cards and take more pictures". I couldn't agree more with that. It is the more pictures that you take, the more you can practice and learn from it. Other than that, a few other things that I've learnt:
Watch others' pictures, try to find out why you like those pictures and mimic the shots
Pay more attention to what's around you. Sometimes you don't need the things to be beautiful and special. It all depends on how you look at it.
Don't be afraid to try different angles.
It's still a long journey for me, and there's a lot more to learn. Thanks for all my friends for the encouragement! Love you guys!
Wanted to write this since day 1, but never had the time until now. But guess it’s a good timing as well, to wrap up things that happened this week.
The first feeling I had when I reached here was… nervous. Not sure why. I guess it’s because there are a lot of things that I don’t know and need to find out myself… where is the hotel, how to get there, which prepaid card to use, how much to pay, where to find food etc. To be honest, the feeling is with me now. It’s gonna take some times, especially after everything is settled.
Really didn’t like the first 2 night stay in Hyatt. Despite of the price ($285 per night), the hotel is so old, and serves no breakfast... (starting to miss the roti telur). Street is totally quiet and dark after 8 p.m., so depressing. Fortunately managed to move into Rydges after that. It’s 5 min walk from office (as compared to Hyatt which take 5 min bus + 10 min walk). There are also lots of shops and restaurants around.
Things are very different here. Still trying to get myself used to the environment…:
Working hour is really about working, no Facebook, no forums, no news. Maybe because I’m their consultant and the project timeline is crazy, but it feels really productive. When I did a lot of stuff and thought it’s already lunch time, it’s only 10:30 a.m.
People are very clear with the things they want. Scope is well-defined, and you will know what you need to produce...
5 o’clock is 5 o’clock, people rarely work after that, cos it’s beer time. Been drinking after work every night.
Good work life balance though. Leave work around 5, happy hour till around 7, dinner till 8 or 9, walk back to hotel, shower, and it’s still before 10. As compared to K.L., with the jam, you only reach home 7 or 8 pm before dinner and shower.
Things are slow here, and people are relax, except me. I’m trying very hard to slow myself down, trying very hard to tell myself to relax. Definitely not an easy stuff to do.
Still a lot of things to settle, to open a bank account, to look for an apartment, to plan for my trips here, and a lot of readings for the project… Just need to tell myself to relax relax and relax… think and plan slowly…
Looking forward for tomorrow. First weekend. Gonna check out Fremantle.
Now, before you proceed, read the warning on your clothes. No guarantee if the stain will be removed or if this won't damage your clothes OK? No advisable to be apply for LV or Gucci or Prada. Why? If you can afford one of those, you can afford to buy another one

Before you start brushing, put the unwanted cloth under the part where the stain is
Apply some washing powder/ liquid on it and start brushing gently
