Now, let's get straight to the point. Why do you wanna for this buffet lunch:
First and foremost, unlike most of the Japanese buffet restaurants, you don't take food from the counter. You order from the menu. Yes, they have ala carte menu for the buffet
The food is fresh, and freshness is the key when you are having sashimi
The place is nice, cozy. Unlike others which are quite noisy
You can request for a room if you want, then you can do "your things privately"
The price is reasonable: RM 55++ for adult, RM 28++ for children. As compare with RM 88++ from other restaurants (you know where I'm saying). Of course Rakuzen doesn't offer Häagen-Dazs ice cream
Of course, given such a good deal, you need to make your reservation in advance. When I said in advance, it means at least a week before.
One of the things that we always tell our clients is SUSTAINABILITY, i.e. it's easy to setup something, but you must ensure that a certain amount of efforts need to be put in place in order to sustain it as well. In the area where it involves sales, it's called "After Sales Service".
I was once disappointed with the after sales services from Machines (see my post on Griffin iPhone Case for Sale). Today, I was disappointed again, and here's the whole story.
Day 1: WeiWei and I decided to trade in the old iBook to Machines when we saw the ad on their website. We called them up and was informed that we could bring the iBook to the store, their technician will inspect and send the iBook to HQ for quotation. So we did. We brought the iBook to the store at 1-Utama. When we were there, the fellow who answered our call told us the technician was not there 'cos it was a weekend. Thanks.... Would definitely appreciate if you have told us earlier.
Day 2: One fine weekday, WeiWei and I decided to head to Machines at 1-Utama to try again. OK, the technician was there this time, but guess what, the technician told us that they don't do trade in there, we have to goto the HQ (at Midvalley). So we talked to the guy who first spoke to us, and he said "Oh is it? Guess I made a mistake. You havta goto HQ then". Wow.... thanks again....
Day 3: This time, WeiWei and I thought that we're gonna do it right, we brought the iBook to Machines at Midvalley. First of all, the 2 sales girls at the front ain't that friendly. When we told them we wanna trade in our iBook, they just pointed their fingers to the counter and said "Go there." I'm like, WTF. Then, we were at the counter...
Fong: We need to trade in our iBook
Guy at the counter (Guy): You need to register your iBook at our website first
Fong: We did it 2 weeks ago, but we receive no reply from you
Guy: Oh, if like that I can't help you, 'cos this is under another department
Fong: (wow, that was a helpful piece of info). So what do you suggest us to do now?
Guy: You can call our company and ask about it.
Fong: OK, now, I bought the Apple Care Protection Plan, but we were not able to register it online
Guy: How did you do it?
Fong: (I thought I said it) Register online
Guy: That's weird. What did you do? What happened?
Fong: I entered the serial number and nothing happened
Guy: (Repeatedly asked for a few times) Did you enter the serial number? What happened?
Fong: (Explained a few more times)
Guy: Are you sure your Internet connection was working?
Fong: (WTF, you think I'm an idiot?) Of course..... Can we register it here?
Guy: Our Internet connection is very slow here...
Fong: (So that's why..... now i know who's the idiot...) So?
Guy: This you need to call Apple. We can't help you (again).
Fong: (That was helpful........) So? I suppose you can give me the number right?
Guy: Oh ya... here's the number...
I could say nothing more... What's happening? The only thing I could say is... Welcome to Malaysia.........
WeiWei and I was walking back home from dinner just now, and we saw a dead body of a cat on the road, right behind my house.
After I walked into my backyard, I saw a car stopped by the road side, and this uncle came down from the car, picked up the dead body and placed it by the road side. That time, I felt that, wow, he is such a nice guy.
Seeing that, I asked if he wanna wash his hands in my house. He said no, but he asked me if I have any old newspaper. When I gave him the newspaper, I asked him what he's gonna do with it. I was surprised when I heard what he said. He told me he's gonna bring the cat into his car, and send it to somewhere to bury it. I'm like... this guy is really a nice guy. But the story doesn't end here.
After finish wrapping the body, he called his friend, told his friend about the situation, and he actually asked if his friend could perform a prayer for the cat (念往生咒). I was like.... WOW~!!! He then adjusted his car seats, put the body into his car and drove away.
You are a good man uncle. I respect you. Thanks for showing me that, and teaching me a lesson. I might not be able to do the same thing that you did, but I will try my best to do good.

This year's birthday was a simple one. No fancy celebration, no crazy party, no pink balloon and no big present. Strangely, I felt kind of touched this year.
Honestly, I was really surprised by the celebration lunch organized by the gang (thanks folks), a small card by my change management cuties (muaks!), a few phone calls. People didn't believe that I was surprised, and thought that Fong would have definitely guessed it, but trust me, I really didn't expect it.
Is it because of the age? That you don't really take note of this kind of stuff anymore? Or is it just because I was too busy with work. I hope it's the first one. I was touched because I didn't expect it? Or I was touched because I'm older? I hope it's the first one as well.
Thanks for the SMS, thanks for the calls (from those I didn't expect at all), thanks for the writing on the FB wall (I know you didn't remember, it was FB which reminded you, but it's alright, it reminds me of your birthday as well )
And definitely thanks WeiWei for everything.
2 more years to the new level. People tells me, age is just a figure, it's how you live and how you think which are more important. True. But I tend to see age as a milestone (influenced by consultants??) to measure what one has achieved. I guess that's no right or wrong, good or bad to that. It's a way for continuous improvements, while reminding myself that age doesn't matter? Hahaha...
Easily satisfied? A step closer to my new year resolution Cheers~!
I always thought that iPhone has very big potential, not only on what it can do as a phone, but also in terms of serving as a hardheld device. It has been proven again in the new iPhone 3.0 firmware, that how much iPhone can push the boundaries of a handheld device, and that really blew me away. Just thought that wanna share some of the interesting stuffs.
As you may be aware, devilsheep.com has got a new theme now. Well, this is not an ordinary theme, this is a theme that I designed from scratch.
Have been wanted to design my own theme for a long time, and I've finally done it.
It's not a complicated theme yet, and it's still in beta. There are still some stuffs to be fixed. Gonna do it whenever I have time, and do let me know if you find any issue with the page ya!
You will have issue viewing this page in IE 6 as there is a bug in IE 6 dealing with transparent PNG files (which I used a lot in this theme). Gonna fix those if I have time. If not... well, I'm just gonna say sorry then, I'm a Firefox user
Update:
It's good to finally create a template on my own. It's actually not that difficult. Let me know if you need any help.
In terms of browser testing, Google Chrome is definitely the most user-friendly one. I used pure NotePad to code this, and Chrome displayed exactly what I wanted. FireFox's rendering was a bit off, but managed to fix it easily. I've finally fixed the IE 7 issue. Don't think gonna spend time fixing it for IE 6 though... sorry guys
What's next? I'm planning on another project for now, not on the theme though. After that, I might create another theme. This time it's gonna be more canggih one... have some ideas in mind already
Thanks for the support anyway. Let me know if you have any issue viewing the page ya.
Finally finished watching "Slumdog Millionaire" yesterday. Wasn't as fantastic as I thought, but it was a good movie. Would definitely recommend it.
Well, there are a few parts that I liked about the movie though. It reflects a lot of real situations in India, and would definitely raise a lot of awareness, not only to the western countries, but reflections to our own self. At Jamal's age, I was playing my Lego set, while he's holding the toilet to earn money.
Also liked the kids in the movie. According the press, they are actual slums, but guess they really enjoyed the movie making. Like to look at their smile, very pure, natural.
2 parts really touched me. First is the part when Jamal gave money to Arvind (the blind kid), don't ask me why. Second is the part when Jamal is answering the last question. It really excited me, just like how we are watching an actual game.
I guess one of the reasons that the movie won so many awards is because it really reflects some of the actual situations that people doesn't know about. Hhhmm... if someone were to make a movie about Malaysia's politics and politicians, I guess it would win even more awards :)
The funniest part is definitely the ending. I thought that would be the first Indian movie that doesn't involve dancing... but still... Hahaha, I still enjoyed the dance though
Remember the 2 points that I mentioned in one of my previous post?
There're 2 points about iPhone cases in Malaysia:
It's ironic that shops are selling iPhone cases here even though the phone itself is not sold (officially) here.
Given
point 1, it's really not easy to find a nice case here, even if you are
willing to pay for it (and I really mean it). Most of the time you
would only see those condom cases or transparent plastic cases (made by
Nokia case-makers who thinks it would look good on iPhone also)
They are still VERY valid.
Jimmy bought me a new case from Singapore (thanks dude~!). First of all, that's a country that sells iPhone, OFFICIALLY, and with a valid first point, comes a valid second points. You can find all sorts of nice casing there, and this particular one, which is pretty cool, only cost around RM 28! As compared with the stupid RM 108 Speck case.
Also, check out my new theme, modified from KathaVisual theme to insert my name on the lockscreen. Thanks to the original designer!
