iPhone

iPhone+Fong=iFong part i

Yes, after months of thinking, dreaming, shouting, planning, scouting, surfing, bidding of an iPhone (yes, I've tried every way), I've finally got myself an iPhone 3G. Yes, I've finally transFONGed into an iFONG.

Well, everybody knows how fantastic the iPhone is in terms of features, graphics, exteriors, browsing, user experiences, processing speed, video quality, sound quality, potentials etc etc & etc, so I'm not going to be an iPhone salesman or Denis here and tell you how great the phone is. I'm just gonna share something that you might wanna take note if you wanna use the phone in Malaysia with Turbo Sim.

So click "Read more" to... yeah... read more Wink

Happy New Year 2009

Happy New Year!!! Well, OK, I know it's a bit late for both this post and the greeting, but come on, as if you would check my blog on the first day of 2009 :p

New year new year, if you think about it, it's nothing much but just another normal day. OK, you get 1 day holiday, but things don't change just like that.

Lot's of people, or most of people says "Happy New Year".

This year, I have a different feeling about the greeting "Happy New Year". What do people think when they say that? Is it merely a greeting? Or do they wish that listening party would be happy? Are they asking them to be happy? Is happiness given? Who would give you the happiness? Is it a wish? Or pure luck? "Happy New Year", what do you mean by happy new year?

I tried to recap what I've done over the past year. I realized I didn't achieve a lot. OK, I went to Taiwan, I went to U.S., I became iFong. I've done quite a fair bit, but I didn't achieve a lot. There was a plan, and was waiting for the plan to be realized. Because of that, I've been staying low throughout the whole year.

It's easy to stay low, but it's not easy to wait, especially when you are waiting for something that you have no control on. Without realizing it, laying low and waiting makes you low. Things become worse when the plan is fucked up.

Some people asked, "What's your new year resolution?".

I told them, it's complicated. OK, I was just lazy to explain it verbally, or, it ain't a suitable situation to explain. But my new year resolution is to be Happy, and it starts with the mind. A new year and a new Fong.

Just a simple resolution right? ;)

Becoming a Fan of Khalil Fong (方大同)

If you have not heard about Khalil Fong (方大同), you should seriously check him out.

Khalil released his first album "Soulboy" in 2005. Everybody was telling me how fantastic he is, but I just didn't listen to his album. Until this year when he was invited to the Superstar Show in Taiwan (超级星光大道) as a guest artist, only I realized how fantastic this guy is.

This guy is really different from other Chinese R&B singers. He's quite natural (not faking the R&B shit). Sometimes you would thought that you are listening to Stevie Wonder. Hahaha, no kidding.

Check out one of his best songs - Singer and Model (歌手与模特儿) below, one of my favorites.

A Taste of Taiwan Food Again

It has been a while since I visited Taipei in March. Missed the food? Hhhmm... Not really. Been telling everybody this: didn't really find Taiwan food as fantastic as how they describe it in the TV shows. Yeah, it's true. So if you are planning to visit Taiwan for the food, set your expectation right.

Fong Lye Restaurant

Anyway, checked out Fong Lye Taiwanese Restaurant the other day in The Gardens. Looks not bad from outside, kind of crowded too. It was just me and WeiWei, so couldn't order too many stuff.

Orange Yougart papaya milk

As usual, these kind of restaurants normally serve funky funky colorful drinks, so we ordered the papaya milk and orange yougart. Not too expensive though. RM7.30 each.

Fresh tomato fried egg with fish

The set meals were not bad too. Ordered the Fresh Tomato Fried Egg with Fish (name also very long). As you can see, there're quite a lot of stuff, including dessert too (the yellow thingy in the center is some creamy butter stuff 奶油卷).

tomato fish in the wok

It's actually not bad to go with rice, the fish was fresh. Just a bit too sweet after a while.

taiwan rice

They serve the meal with a common rice with pork in Taiwan - Lu Rou Rice 鲁肉饭. You can find this kind of rice everywhere in Taiwan, like nasi lemak in Malaysia. The taste is not as strong as those you find in Taiwan. Maybe they have adjusted it a bit for Malaysian market.

spare ribs set

WeiWei ordered a Spare Ribs Set.

spare ribs

It's something like KFC Hot & Spicy, replace the chicken with pork ribs deduct the spicy. Funny to go with rice actually.

Overall the food was OK. A bit pricey though. RM 19.80 per set meal, which comes to RM62.35 for 2 person including drinks.

Recommendation: Like in Taiwan, nothing really fantastic, but worth checking it out if you are there.
