While the rest of the world is predicting what's gonna bein the new iPhone, and while I'm waiting for boarding here, I thought that Imight as well write an iPhone prediction by iFong. Yes, I do think that there will be a new iPhone in June.Given that Apple has disappointed Steve Jobs and the whole world for annoucingiPhone 3GS, and all the coming Android 2.X phones, they definitely need to dosomething about it. First of all, hardware- Size is gonna stay almost the same. A new keyboard won'tfit into a smaller iPhone, and a bigger iPhone won't fit into the pocket.
- Higher resolution screen is a must, together with the newLED-Backlit IPS screen from iPad Screen. Size is gonna be bigger too, pushing till the edgeof the phone, probably less empty space around the top.
- There has been rumor that the new iPhone will have 5mpcamera with flash, but I don't think there will be a flash. Having a flash isjust so not cool on the hardware. They might probably improve the camerasoftware to take better picture in the dark.
- Better noise cancelling and call quality Last but notleast, definitely a better processor. perhaps A4Mobile Nope, there won't be asecond camera for video call. It's just not cool. Steve will save the space forcamera for something else
Software- There will be a new home screen, with more info likecalendar and notification, allow easier access to those app
- Radio, just likeiPod Nano
- According to one of the patents applied by Apple, there will be a newfeature in which u can have icon of your contacts on the screen. By tapping theicon, it gives you various options that you can do with the contact, e.g. Call,SMS, email etc (click here to see more info)
credit: Redmond Pie- I don't think there will be a full multi-app capability. Applewill enable some of the built-in app to run in background, e.g. U can switchfrom game to the SMS app without quiting the game. But other apps running inthe background? No way. The UI is just too complicated, not an Apple culture
- Due to the fight between Apple and Google, I don't think turn-by-turn GoogleMaps will be available. U will still need other GPS app to do that
- Now that theiPad is out, I think there will be a mechanism to better sync data betweeniPhone and iPad, eg sync game status, bookmarks in safari and iBook etc, without going through iTunes (through MobileMe maybe?)
- iBook Store in iPhone perhaps?
Name? And the last prediction is, it will DEFINITELY not benamed as iPhone 4G, DEFINITELY! There's no formal definition for 4G, even fromthe telco, and the tech has yet to be finalized. So it would be stupid to namethe phone on something which nobody knows what it's about. What will be thename? I don't know. Perhaps iPhone J? J stands for Jobs? It would be sad if the new iPhone is like this...

Tons of friends have asked me if they should get an iPhone. Kind of
tired of answering all the questions over and over again (people thought I'm
an iPhone salesman). So here I am, writing a consideration guide to purchase
iPhone.

I always thought that iPhone has very big potential, not only on what it can do as a phone, but also in terms of serving as a hardheld device. It has been proven again in the new iPhone 3.0 firmware, that how much iPhone can push the boundaries of a handheld device, and that really blew me away. Just thought that wanna share some of the interesting stuffs.

Remember the 2 points that I mentioned in one of my previous post? There're 2 points about iPhone cases in Malaysia: - It's ironic that shops are selling iPhone cases here even though the phone itself is not sold (officially) here.
- Given
point 1, it's really not easy to find a nice case here, even if you are
willing to pay for it (and I really mean it). Most of the time you
would only see those condom cases or transparent plastic cases (made by
Nokia case-makers who thinks it would look good on iPhone also)
They are still VERY valid. Jimmy bought me a new case from Singapore (thanks dude~!). First of all, that's a country that sells iPhone, OFFICIALLY, and with a valid first point, comes a valid second points. You can find all sorts of nice casing there, and this particular one, which is pretty cool, only cost around RM 28! As compared with the stupid RM 108 Speck case. Also, check out my new theme, modified from KathaVisual theme to insert my name on the lockscreen. Thanks to the original designer!

I am so pissed that I wanna write this NOW! IMMEDIATELY! Got myself a Speck iPhone case just now, was happily opening the package, only to find that the case is built as such a low quality, and worst of all, it's faulty!
The packaging looks nice, and I thought I would have a funky casing.
Look at this! It is actually detached from the casing!! What kind of good is this???
The clip area is SO unproperly done! You can see how un-smoonth it is!
This part can easily scratch the back of your phone
and at the bottom too!
It's always easy to say that it is designed in California and made in China. The point is QUALITY CONTROL, and not cheaper cost only~! There're 2 points about iPhone cases in Malaysia: - It's ironic that shops are selling iPhone cases here even though the phone itself is not sold (officially) here.
- Given point 1, it's really not easy to find a nice case here, even if you are willing to pay for it (and I really mean it). Most of the time you would only see those condom cases or transparent plastic cases (made by Nokia case-makers who thinks it would look good on iPhone also)
So if you can bring in some GOOD cases, and I mean good, you should definitely let me know, and we should definitely do some business here...

iPhone+Fong=iFong part i
Yes, after
months of thinking, dreaming, shouting, planning, scouting, surfing,

myself an iPhone 3G. Yes, I've finally transFONGed into an iFONG. Well, everybody knows how fantastic the iPhone is in terms of

speed, video quality, sound quality, potentials etc etc & etc, so I'm
not going to be an iPhone salesman or Denis here and tell you how great
the phone is. I'm just gonna share something that you might wanna take
note if you wanna use the phone in Malaysia with Turbo Sim. So click "Read more" to... yeah... read more |
